How to use this calculator
- Enter your first 10-metre walk time.
- Enter your latest time.
- See change in gait speed.
How it works
Gait speed is 10 m divided by time. A gain of 0.1 m/s is a substantial meaningful change, and 0.05 m/s a small meaningful change, in older adults and people in rehabilitation.

Physiotherapy treatment
Gait progress monitoring is the core of physiotherapy for gait impairment. After an assessment, your physiotherapist sets a plan built around gait training and lower limb strengthening, progressed as your results improve. Hands-on treatment, pain relief and education are added where they help.
