Concussion Physiotherapy in Indirapuram

A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury, often from a blow to the head in sport or a fall. Most people recover within weeks. When symptoms linger, targeted rehab for balance, dizziness and neck problems can speed recovery.

Red flags

Seek emergency care for worsening headache, repeated vomiting, seizures, increasing confusion, unequal pupils, weakness or numbness, slurred speech or loss of consciousness. These may indicate a more serious brain injury.

Recovery

Brief rest for a day or two is reasonable, followed by gradual return to light activity. Prolonged strict rest isn't recommended and may slow recovery. Most people recover within a few weeks.

Persistent symptoms

Some people have ongoing headaches, dizziness, balance problems, neck pain or difficulty concentrating. These can come from different sources: the vestibular system (inner ear balance), the neck, or the brain's tolerance for exertion.

Vestibular rehabilitation uses specific eye, head and balance exercises to reduce dizziness. Neck treatment helps if whiplash contributed to headaches. Graded aerobic exercise, carefully dosed, helps the brain tolerate exertion again.

Return to sport

Return to sport follows a graded protocol, progressing through light activity, sport-specific training, non-contact practice, full practice and competition, with each stage symptom-free before advancing. Medical clearance is needed before contact.

Medical note

This page is general information, not a diagnosis. Treatment is planned after an in-person assessment by a physiotherapist, and we refer you to a doctor where symptoms need medical review first. If you have sudden weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, chest pain or severe unexplained pain, seek emergency care.
