How to use this calculator
- Enter sets, repetitions, days and seconds per repetition.
- Add how many exercises you do.
- See weekly repetitions and time under tension.
How it works
Total repetitions equal sets x repetitions x days x exercises. Time under tension is repetitions x seconds per repetition. Slow, controlled repetitions (about 3 to 4 seconds) are typical in rehab because they build control and reduce joint stress.
Reading your result
| 20 to 40 reps per exercise per session | Typical rehab range. |

| Under 10 | Probably too little to drive change. |
Physiotherapy treatment
Exercise dosage planning is the core of physiotherapy for general rehabilitation. After an assessment, your physiotherapist sets a plan built around prescribed sets and repetitions, progressed as your results improve. Hands-on treatment, pain relief and education are added where they help.
Exercises this calculator may recommend
Your result decides which of these appear, and at what dose.
