Stroke Physiotherapy and Recovery Guides
Plain-language guides for stroke survivors and their families on recovery, home care, exercise and life after stroke, plus our clinic and home-visit stroke services.
New stroke symptoms are an emergency
Sudden face drooping, arm or leg weakness, slurred or confused speech, sudden loss of vision or balance, or a sudden severe headache can mean a new stroke. Call 112 or 108 for an ambulance straight away and note the time the symptoms started. Do not wait for a physiotherapy appointment. What to do while you wait for help.
Where to start
Families usually arrive here with one of three questions. What happens now, how long will it take, and what can we do at home? The answers depend on the stroke itself, the person and how much practice they get each day, which is why the guides below explain the reasoning rather than hand out one plan for everyone.
If the stroke happened recently, read what to expect from stroke recovery and the first weeks after discharge. If you are caring for someone at home, bed positioning and the caregiver guide cover the things that prevent setbacks. If progress has slowed months later, the plateau guide explains why and what changes it.
Physiotherapy for stroke at PhysioSolution
We see stroke patients at the clinic in Ahinsa Khand 1, Indirapuram, and at home across Indirapuram, Vaishali, Vasundhara, Noida, Raj Nagar Extension and the rest of Ghaziabad. Sessions are one-to-one with a qualified physiotherapist, and families are trained to carry the practice on between visits. Start with stroke physiotherapy for how treatment works, or go straight to stroke physiotherapy at home if travel is the problem.
