How to use this calculator
- Enter your body weight.
- Choose the weight-bearing status your surgeon gave you.
- See the load in kilograms to practise on a scale.
How it works
Partial weight bearing is prescribed as a percentage of body weight. Multiplying your weight by that percentage gives the reading to aim for on a bathroom scale, which helps you learn how much pressure to use when walking.

Physiotherapy treatment
Weight bearing progression under clinician guidance is the core of physiotherapy for post injury / post surgery. After an assessment, your physiotherapist sets a plan built around protected walking and progressive loading when cleared, progressed as your results improve. Hands-on treatment, pain relief and education are added where they help.

Medical note
Calculators give estimates for general guidance and do not diagnose any condition. Stop and seek medical help for chest pain, fainting, sudden weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or severe or rapidly worsening pain. Always follow your surgeon's or doctor's instructions over any calculator.
