Home Physiotherapy at Asiad Village, Siri Fort

Asiad Village, near the Siri Fort Auditorium, was built to house athletes for the 1982 Asian Games and has been a residential society since.

Why home physiotherapy makes sense at Asiad Village

For most problems, home physiotherapy is not the lighter option. Good treatment is assessment, hands-on work and progressive exercise, and all three travel. At Asiad Village it also removes the hardest part of the first weeks: getting out of the house, into a car and through South Delhi traffic. Siri Fort is on the Saket and Hauz Khas side of South Delhi, further from our Indirapuram clinic. Visits are pre-booked a day ahead on fixed slots, which also suits daily programmes after surgery or a stroke.

Getting to your home

Tell us the house number and the nearest gate; for regular visits we keep it on file. If the patient has a carer or attendant, it helps if they are home for the first visit so we can show them the routine.

Walkways, steps and getting out again

Low-rise housing laid out along walkways and steps makes the outdoors part of everyday life, and losing it after a fall or an operation is a big loss. We start indoors with strength and transfers, then take walking outside onto the paths and steps residents actually use. Balance training runs alongside, because uneven paths are where falls happen.

Keeping older parents walking

Many households in Asiad Village have parents in their seventies and eighties. Weak legs, poor balance and fear of falling feed each other: the less someone walks, the weaker they get. Geriatric physiotherapy at home breaks that cycle with strength and balance training built around their own rooms and stairs. Senior exercises lists safe starting points.

Parkinson's: treating where the problems happen

With Parkinson's, the home is where the trouble shows: turning in a narrow kitchen, getting out of a low sofa, the step into the bathroom. Sessions in Asiad Village target those exact spots, using balance and mobility exercises and cueing strategies the family can use too. More on neuro physiotherapy.

Coming home from hospital

For residents discharged from Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket or AIIMS, we can usually start in the first week at home. Share the discharge summary when you book. See post-surgical rehabilitation for how the programme runs.

Therapies we bring to Asiad Village

Heat therapy

Loosens stiff joints and muscles before exercise.

Kinesio taping

Gives a painful joint support that lasts a few days.

Interferential therapy (IFT)

Eases deep back and knee pain so exercise is possible.

Ultrasound therapy

For tendon and shoulder problems where deeper tissue needs treating.

Larger equipment such as spinal traction and shortwave diathermy stays at our Indirapuram clinic. Most South Delhi patients never need it; those who do usually start at home and add clinic sessions later.

What every home visit includes

  • A full assessment in your home and a written treatment plan with target dates
  • Hands-on therapy, with portable IFT, TENS or ultrasound where it helps
  • Exercises progressed at every session, with a home routine for the days in between
  • Training for family members on transfers, positioning and safety
  • Progress notes you can share with your doctor

Frequently asked questions

Do you visit Asiad Village?

Yes, on fixed slots booked a day ahead. Siri Fort is on the Saket and Hauz Khas side, so we plan the route in advance rather than sending someone at short notice.

Do I need to register the physiotherapist at the gate?

Only if the society asks for it. Tell us the house number and the nearest gate; for regular visits we keep it on file.

Can a family member be present during the session?

Yes, and it helps. We show carers how to assist with transfers and exercises so practice continues between visits.

Can I ask for a female physiotherapist?

Yes, on request. See female physiotherapist at home.

What equipment does the physiotherapist bring?

Portable TENS, IFT and ultrasound units, hot and cold packs, exercise bands and assessment tools. Larger equipment such as traction and shortwave is at our Indirapuram clinic.

What does a home visit cost?

A single home session is ₹800 to ₹1,200 depending on distance, condition and session length, with the first assessment included. Weekly and monthly plans cost less per visit; the details are on our Siri Fort home physiotherapy page.

Society details are based on public listings and may change. Physiosolution is an independent clinic based in Indirapuram and is not affiliated with any hospital, society or residents' welfare association named on this page.
