Home visits
Female Physiotherapist at Home
For a lot of women, the hardest part of physiotherapy is getting to it. A newborn, a painful pelvis, a caesarean scar or simply a preference for privacy can all make a home visit the better option.
Why many women choose treatment at home
The first weeks after birth are the obvious example. Travelling with a newborn is hard work, many families follow a forty-day rest, and sitting in a waiting room with a sore perineum or a fresh scar isn't anyone's idea of recovery. Late pregnancy with pelvic girdle pain is another: a car journey can undo half the benefit of the session. Some women simply find it easier to talk about bladder, bowel or pelvic symptoms in their own home.
It isn't only about pregnancy. Older mothers recovering from a fracture, women after surgery, and anyone whose pain makes travel difficult benefit just as much.
Asking for a female physiotherapist
Mention it when you call or send a WhatsApp message to book. We'll confirm who will visit before the appointment, and if a female physiotherapist isn't available at the time you want, we'll tell you and offer another slot rather than send someone else without asking.
What can be treated at home
Most women's health physiotherapy works well at home, including care for pregnancy back pain, a pregnancy exercise program, postpartum rehabilitation, C-section recovery, diastasis recti, pelvic floor training, menopause strength programs and rehabilitation after breast surgery. General problems such as back, neck and knee pain are treated at home too.
A few things are better done at the clinic, where the full electrotherapy setup and gym equipment are available. If that applies to you, we'll say so and explain why.
What happens during a home visit
- A full assessment in the first session, just as it would be in the clinic
- Hands-on treatment on a bed, sofa or mat, whichever is most comfortable
- Exercises using portable equipment and everyday things you have at home
- Advice set up around your actual home: your bed, your feeding chair, your stairs, your toilet
- A written or messaged home program so you know exactly what to do between visits
Areas we cover
We visit homes across Indirapuram, Vaishali, Vasundhara, Noida and Ghaziabad. If you're just outside these areas, call and ask. Our main home visit physiotherapy page has more on how home sessions work.
Getting ready for the first visit
- Clear a space about the size of a yoga mat
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing
- Keep any scans, discharge papers or doctor's notes handy
- Have a family member with you if you'd like, or not, as you prefer
- If you're feeding, it's fine to pause the session. We plan around the baby.
Home or clinic?
Home suits the early postnatal weeks, severe pain and anyone for whom travel is a real barrier. The clinic makes sense once you're mobile and need heavier strength work or electrotherapy. Many women start at home and move to the clinic as they recover, and that's a perfectly good plan. See women's health physiotherapy for everything we offer.
Frequently asked questions
Can I be sure a female physiotherapist will come?
Ask when you book. We confirm who is visiting before the appointment, and if a female physiotherapist isn't free at your preferred time, we tell you and offer another slot.
How long is a home session?
Usually about 45 minutes, with the first assessment sometimes taking a little longer.
Can a family member be present?
Yes, if you'd like someone with you. It's your choice.
Do home visits cost more than clinic sessions?
Home visits are priced differently from clinic sessions because of travel. Ask for the current fee when you book.
Can pelvic floor physiotherapy be done at home?
Much of it can: the history, breathing, posture, abdominal and external pelvic floor assessment, and training. If a more detailed assessment would help, we'll discuss whether the clinic is better.
