Pain and function scores

Rehabilitation Progress Calculator

Free Rehabilitation Progress Calculator for general rehabilitation. Score pain and daily function, and track change over time. Then see the exercises and physiotherapy treatment our team recommends for your result.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter the first result for each measure (from your first session or test).
  2. Enter your latest result for the same measures.
  3. See the percentage change and whether it is meaningful.

How it works

Each measure is converted to a percentage improvement, taking into account whether lower is better (pain) or higher is better (distance, strength). The average across measures gives an overall change. Around 30 percent is widely used as a clinically meaningful improvement.

Reading your result

Meaningful improvementAbout 30% or more: the plan is working.
Some improvement10 to 30%: keep going and review the dose.
Little change or worseUnder 10%: the plan needs reviewing.

Physiotherapy treatment

Progress assessment and program adjustment is the core of physiotherapy for general rehabilitation. After an assessment, your physiotherapist sets a plan built around mobility, strengthening, balance and functional training, progressed as your results improve. Hands-on treatment, pain relief and education are added where they help.

Exercises this calculator may recommend

Your result decides which of these appear, and at what dose.

Medical note

Calculators give estimates for general guidance and do not diagnose any condition. Stop and seek medical help for chest pain, fainting, sudden weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or severe or rapidly worsening pain. Always follow your surgeon's or doctor's instructions over any calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I measure progress?
Every 2 to 4 weeks is enough. Weekly swings are normal; trends matter more.
What if one measure improves and another does not?
That is common. Pain often settles before strength returns. Your physiotherapist adjusts the part of the plan that is lagging.
Which exercises does the Rehabilitation Progress Calculator recommend?
It matches exercises to your result. Typical suggestions are mobility, strengthening, balance and functional training. Gentler options are shown when your result suggests pain or low capacity, and harder progressions when you are on track. A physiotherapist confirms the right exercises and dose after assessment.
