How to use this calculator
- Choose the injury and its severity.
- Add age, previous injury and whether you are doing rehab.
- Get an estimated recovery range.
How it works
Base ranges come from typical healing times by grade, extended by 15% for age over 40, 20% for a previous injury to the same area, and 30% without structured rehab. Grade 3 injuries may need a medical opinion.

Physiotherapy treatment
Mobility and progressive strengthening is the core of physiotherapy for muscle strain. After an assessment, your physiotherapist sets a plan built around rOM, isometrics and progressive resistance, progressed as your results improve. Hands-on treatment, pain relief and education are added where they help.
Exercises this calculator may recommend
Your result decides which of these appear, and at what dose.
