Home Physiotherapy at Narmada Apartments, Alaknanda

Narmada Apartments is one of the river-named group housing societies of Alaknanda.

Who we see at Narmada Apartments

Most calls from Narmada Apartments fall into three groups: parents recovering from a fall or a joint replacement, people with back or neck pain too sore to sit in a car, and patients home from hospital after a stroke or surgery. All three do well with treatment at home, because the journey is the part they struggle with most. Alaknanda is in central South Delhi, between Outer Ring Road and Nehru Place. We group visits here with our Sarita Vihar and Okhla route, so book a day ahead and we fix a regular slot for the rest of the plan.

Getting to your home

Share your block and flat number at booking, and any gate registration the society requires. If the patient has a carer or attendant, it helps if they are home for the first visit so we can show them the routine.

Stairs, not lifts

Much of the older group housing in this part of South Delhi is low-rise, and not every block has a lift. For a patient after a knee replacement, a hip fracture or a stroke, two or three flights of stairs can decide whether they get to physiotherapy at all. We treat in the flat, and once it is safe the stairwell becomes part of the treatment: we train stair climbing on the actual steps the patient uses every day.

Stroke rehabilitation at home

Recovery after a stroke is fastest in the first three months, which is exactly when getting to a clinic is hardest. We start at home in Narmada Apartments with bed mobility, sitting balance and safe transfers, then standing and walking as control returns. Family members learn how to help without doing everything for the patient. More on neuro physiotherapy and paralysis physiotherapy.

Low back pain that runs down the leg

Back pain that spreads into one leg usually settles with the right mix of pain relief and early movement, but the first week is miserable, and a drive through Narmada Apartments traffic makes it worse. We assess at home, use portable TENS or IFT for the pain, and get you moving with exercises like pelvic tilts and the knee-to-chest stretch where they suit you. See lower back pain physiotherapy and disc bulge.

Coming home from hospital

For residents discharged from Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket or Batra Hospital, we can usually start in the first week at home. Share the discharge summary when you book. See post-surgical rehabilitation for how the programme runs.

Therapies we bring to Narmada Apartments

Interferential therapy (IFT)

Eases deep back and knee pain so exercise is possible.

Ultrasound therapy

For tendon and shoulder problems where deeper tissue needs treating.

Cold therapy

Controls swelling after surgery or a fresh sprain.

Soft tissue mobilisation

Hands-on work for tight calves, hamstrings and back muscles.

Larger equipment such as spinal traction and shortwave diathermy stays at our Indirapuram clinic. Most South Delhi patients never need it; those who do usually start at home and add clinic sessions later.

  • Hands-on therapy, with portable IFT, TENS or ultrasound where it helps
  • Exercises progressed at every session, with a home routine for the days in between

Frequently asked questions

Do you visit Narmada Apartments?

Yes. Visits to Alaknanda are pre-booked a day ahead and grouped with our Sarita Vihar and Okhla route, then kept at a fixed time for the rest of the plan.

Do I need to register the physiotherapist at the gate?

Only if the society asks for it. Share your block and flat number at booking, and any gate registration the society requires.

How long is each session?

Around 45 to 60 minutes. The first visit runs longer because it includes the full assessment and a written treatment plan.

Is home physiotherapy as effective as going to a clinic?

For most problems, yes. Assessment, hands-on treatment and exercise all work at home, and portable IFT, TENS and ultrasound cover pain relief. Only a minority of patients need clinic-only equipment.

Can I ask for a female physiotherapist?

Yes, on request. See female physiotherapist at home.

What does a home visit cost?

A single home session is ₹800 to ₹1,200 depending on distance, condition and session length, with the first assessment included. Weekly and monthly plans cost less per visit; the details are on our Alaknanda home physiotherapy page.

Society details are based on public listings and may change. Physiosolution is an independent clinic based in Indirapuram and is not affiliated with any hospital, society or residents' welfare association named on this page.
