Home Physiotherapy at NRI Complex, Alaknanda
NRI Complex is a gated group housing complex on the Alaknanda side, close to Chittaranjan Park.
Treatment in your own home at NRI Complex
Rehabilitation works best where you actually live. At NRI Complex we practise getting out of your own bed, onto your own chair and toilet, and through your own doorways, rather than on clinic equipment that looks nothing like home. For working families, a fixed time slot also means nobody has to take leave to drive a parent to appointments. Alaknanda is in central South Delhi, between Outer Ring Road and Nehru Place. We group visits here with our Sarita Vihar and Okhla route, so book a day ahead and we fix a regular slot for the rest of the plan.
Getting to your home
Gate entry is easier when the flat number and the resident's name are registered in advance; we follow whatever process the complex uses. If the patient has a carer or attendant, it helps if they are home for the first visit so we can show them the routine.
Treating inside the flat
Apartment flats are rarely set up for exercise, but they do not need to be. We use a bed, a firm chair, a stretch of corridor and, where there is one, the stairwell. If the block has a lift, we still add stair practice before discharge from our care, so a lift outage does not leave someone stuck indoors.
After a knee replacement
The first six weeks after a knee replacement decide how well the new joint bends for years afterwards. Swelling, pain and the effort of getting out of the flat make it tempting to skip sessions, which is how knees end up stiff. Visiting at home in NRI Complex, we work on bending range, quadriceps activation and walking from the first week, then move on to stairs and longer walks. Our post knee replacement exercises page shows the progression.
Cervical spondylosis and stiff necks
Cervical spondylosis shows up on most X-rays after 40 and does not by itself explain pain. What usually helps is restoring movement and strength in the neck and upper back. Early-morning and evening slots suit working residents in NRI Complex; see cervical pain physiotherapy and neck exercises.
Coming home from hospital
For residents discharged from Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket or Batra Hospital, we can usually start in the first week at home. Share the discharge summary when you book. See post-surgical rehabilitation for how the programme runs.
Therapies we bring to NRI Complex
Heat therapy
Loosens stiff joints and muscles before exercise.
Kinesio taping
Gives a painful joint support that lasts a few days.
Interferential therapy (IFT)
Eases deep back and knee pain so exercise is possible.
Ultrasound therapy
For tendon and shoulder problems where deeper tissue needs treating.
Larger equipment such as spinal traction and shortwave diathermy stays at our Indirapuram clinic. Most South Delhi patients never need it; those who do usually start at home and add clinic sessions later.
What every home visit includes
- A full assessment in your home and a written treatment plan with target dates
- Hands-on therapy, with portable IFT, TENS or ultrasound where it helps
- Exercises progressed at every session, with a home routine for the days in between

Frequently asked questions
Do you visit NRI Complex?
Yes. Visits to Alaknanda are pre-booked a day ahead and grouped with our Sarita Vihar and Okhla route, then kept at a fixed time for the rest of the plan.
Do I need to register the physiotherapist at the gate?
Only if the society asks for it. Gate entry is easier when the flat number and the resident's name are registered in advance; we follow whatever process the complex uses.
Is home physiotherapy as effective as going to a clinic?
For most problems, yes. Assessment, hands-on treatment and exercise all work at home, and portable IFT, TENS and ultrasound cover pain relief. Only a minority of patients need clinic-only equipment.
Can a family member be present during the session?
Yes, and it helps. We show carers how to assist with transfers and exercises so practice continues between visits.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the problem. A simple back strain may need 5 to 8 sessions, a knee replacement 4 to 8 weeks, and stroke rehabilitation several months. We give an estimate after the first assessment.
What does a home visit cost?
A single home session is ₹800 to ₹1,200 depending on distance, condition and session length, with the first assessment included. Weekly and monthly plans cost less per visit; the details are on our Alaknanda home physiotherapy page.
Society details are based on public listings and may change. Physiosolution is an independent clinic based in Indirapuram and is not affiliated with any hospital, society or residents' welfare association named on this page.
