Physiotherapy in your own khand

Most patients have to weigh the effort of getting to a clinic against the benefit of the equipment there. In Ahinsa Khand the clinic is a few minutes away, so that trade-off mostly disappears. A patient in Gaur Green City or Jaipuria Sunrise Greens can start with home visits while walking is difficult, then move to the clinic for traction, shortwave or the exercise area as soon as a short car or rickshaw ride stops being an ordeal.

The khand also sits close to two places many of our patients pass through anyway. Starting rehab straight after a hospital stay

The first two weeks after surgery or a hospital admission are when home physiotherapy earns its keep. Swelling is at its worst, stairs and bathrooms feel unmanageable, and families are unsure how much to let the patient do. We see this most after knee replacement and hip replacement, after stroke and after long medical admissions that leave older patients weak.

The plan usually runs as daily or alternate-day home visits for the first stage, then a move to the clinic once travel is comfortable. Because both are in the same khand, the same physiotherapist can often continue with you, which matters more than people expect. High-rise living and recovery

Many Ahinsa Khand societies are tall towers with lifts, which makes getting out easier than in walk-up buildings but brings its own problems. A lift that's out of service for a day can strand someone who's just had a hip replaced.
