How to use this calculator
- Enter the first result for each measure (from your first session or test).
- Enter your latest result for the same measures.
- See the percentage change and whether it is meaningful.
How it works
Each measure is converted to a percentage improvement, taking into account whether lower is better (pain) or higher is better (distance, strength). The average across measures gives an overall change. Around 30 percent is widely used as a clinically meaningful improvement.
Reading your result
| Meaningful improvement | About 30% or more: the plan is working. |
|---|---|
| Some improvement | 10 to 30%: keep going and review the dose. |
| Little change or worse | Under 10%: the plan needs reviewing. |
Physiotherapy treatment
Exercise progression monitoring is the core of physiotherapy for post operative rehabilitation. After an assessment, your physiotherapist sets a plan built around clinician prescribed mobility, strengthening and functional exercise, progressed as your results improve. Hands-on treatment, pain relief and education are added where they help.
Exercises this calculator may recommend
Your result decides which of these appear, and at what dose.
