Post Surgery Physiotherapy at Home in Raj Nagar Extension
Post surgery physiotherapy at home in Raj Nagar Extension as a weekly plan with a fixed visit time, a short written programme for the days between, and family members trained to help safely.
How home rehabilitation runs off NH-58
Raj Nagar Extension is a belt of high-rise societies off the Meerut road, north of the Hindon. We cover it on scheduled slots, and first visits are usually arranged within 24 hours of booking. For anything longer than a handful of sessions, post surgery physiotherapy at home in Raj Nagar Extension runs as a weekly plan with a fixed time. Families tell us the fixed slot helps more than they expected: the attendant knows when to be home, the patient knows when to have eaten and rested, and nobody waits by the door.
Who this suits
A weekly home plan works for most operations once the person is home: joint replacements, spine surgery, fracture fixation, shoulder and ligament repairs, and general or abdominal surgery where getting moving again is the main goal. It suits households where one person (a spouse, adult child or attendant) can be present at least part of the time, because the plan depends on what happens between visits as much as during them.
It's less suitable when someone needs daily hands-on help with breathing exercises or bed mobility. In that case we start with more frequent visits, often alongside home nursing support after surgery, and move to the weekly pattern later.
Take two examples. A sixty-five-year-old after knee replacement, with a daughter-in-law at home all day, does well on three visits a week falling to two, because the daily exercise rounds actually happen. A younger man after an ankle fixation who lives with flatmates who leave at 8 am may need fewer visits but a shorter, sharper programme he can manage alone.
The written home programme
Every plan comes with a written programme, dated and updated as the surgeon changes restrictions. It lists each exercise, how many repetitions, how many rounds a day, and what to skip on visit days. We keep it short on purpose. A list of four exercises done well, four times a day, beats a list of twelve that gets abandoned by Thursday. The general principles are in our exercise guide for after an operation, but the actual choices and doses are made after assessment and differ by surgery.
Equipment travels with the physiotherapist each visit: a goniometer, therapy bands, heat and cold packs, an electrical stimulator for weak muscles, TENS, IFT and ultrasound units, and walking aids for trial. What stays behind for the week is mostly a band, the written sheet and sometimes a walking aid set to the right height.
What the family takes on between visits
We train one or two family members on the specific jobs that matter for the operation: safe transfers from bed and chair, how to walk alongside someone without holding them up, positioning in bed, and supporting a limb during permitted exercises. We also ask them to watch for things the patient may play down, such as a calf that looks bigger than yesterday or a sudden reluctance to get up. Knowing when to call matters as much as knowing how to help.
Checking progress between sessions
A notebook on the bedside table is the simplest tool we know. Each day: exercises done, walking time or distance, pain before and after, sleep, and anything odd. At the next visit we read it before anything else. A slow change across a week is normal. No change for two weeks, or a steady worsening, is a signal to adjust the plan or check with the surgeon. The online tracker for post-operative exercise does the same job for families who prefer a phone. Photos help as well: a picture of the wound taken at the same angle every two days makes it easier to tell a surgeon whether redness is spreading.
When visits step down, and when the clinic is worth the drive
Visits reduce when the person is doing the home programme correctly without prompting, walking safely with or without an aid, and the surgeon has relaxed restrictions. Two visits a week often becomes one, and then a review every couple of weeks. A fall, a new restriction or a stall in progress are reasons to step back up for a while.
The Indirapuram clinic is a longer drive from Raj Nagar Extension, so we suggest it only when it adds something home visits can't: gym-based strengthening, spinal traction, or balance and step work for someone returning to physical work. Some families combine a clinic session with a surgeon follow-up on the same trip.
Indicative pricing for home plans
Pricing is indicative and confirmed when you book. A single home session is Rs 800 to 1,200. A weekly plan of six visits starts from Rs 4,500, and a monthly plan of twenty-four visits from Rs 16,000. Most people after major surgery start with a weekly plan and review after the first few weeks.

When to call the surgeon or an ambulance
Don't hold a concern for the weekly visit. Ring the surgeon for fever, a wound that turns red or starts to drain, sudden severe pain, or new numbness or weakness in a limb. After spine surgery, any change in bladder or bowel control needs emergency care. A tender, swollen calf needs urgent medical review. Sudden difficulty breathing or chest pain: call 112 or 108 immediately.

This page is general information, not a diagnosis or a treatment plan. Your physiotherapy is planned after an in-person assessment and works alongside the advice of your surgeon and doctor. Recovery differs from person to person, so no timeline or result on this page is a promise.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if our fixed weekly slot no longer suits us?
Tell us and we will look for another fixed time on the Raj Nagar Extension schedule. Changes are easier with a few days' notice. Routines often shift when an attendant changes or a family member returns to work, so adjusting the slot partway through a plan is common.
Can the plan cover two family members who both had surgery?
Sometimes, for example a couple who both had joint replacements. Each person is assessed and gets their own written programme. Visit length and pricing depend on what both need, so discuss it when booking and it will be confirmed then.
Is the monthly plan better value than a weekly plan?
Indicatively, yes per visit, but it only makes sense if you expect to need visits for a month or more. For a smaller operation, a weekly plan with a review is usually wiser. We would rather step down visits early than have you pay for sessions you no longer need.
Can the physiotherapist talk to our surgeon directly?
We share written progress notes so the surgeon has an update before follow-ups. If something needs the surgeon's input between reviews, such as a question about restrictions, we will tell you and help you frame the question. Changes to restrictions always come from the surgeon.
