Home Physiotherapy at Kaveri Apartments, Vasant Kunj

Kaveri Apartments is an apartment society in Vasant Kunj.

Treatment in your own home at Kaveri Apartments

Rehabilitation works best where you actually live. At Kaveri Apartments we practise getting out of your own bed, onto your own chair and toilet, and through your own doorways, rather than on clinic equipment that looks nothing like home. For working families, a fixed time slot also means nobody has to take leave to drive a parent to appointments. Vasant Kunj is the furthest part of South Delhi from our Indirapuram clinic. We group visits here on scheduled days, so call a day or two ahead; for daily programmes we agree a fixed slot before the first session.

Getting to your home

Share the pocket, block and flat number; visits run on scheduled days. If the patient has a carer or attendant, it helps if they are home for the first visit so we can show them the routine.

Treating inside the flat

Apartment flats are rarely set up for exercise, but they do not need to be. We use a bed, a firm chair, a stretch of corridor and, where there is one, the stairwell. If the block has a lift, we still add stair practice before discharge from our care, so a lift outage does not leave someone stuck indoors.

Parkinson's: treating where the problems happen

With Parkinson's, the home is where the trouble shows: turning in a narrow kitchen, getting out of a low sofa, the step into the bathroom. Sessions in Kaveri Apartments target those exact spots, using balance and mobility exercises and cueing strategies the family can use too. More on neuro physiotherapy.

After a hip fracture

A hip fracture in an older parent is usually followed by surgery and then a hard question: how will they get back on their feet at home? We start in the first week after discharge in Kaveri Apartments with bed exercises, sitting out and sit-to-stand practice, then walking with a frame and later a stick. Fall prevention work follows, because a second fall is the real risk.

Coming home from hospital

For residents discharged from Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj or the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, we can usually start in the first week at home. Share the discharge summary when you book. See post-surgical rehabilitation for how the programme runs.

Therapies we bring to Kaveri Apartments

Kinesio taping

Gives a painful joint support that lasts a few days.

Interferential therapy (IFT)

Eases deep back and knee pain so exercise is possible.

Ultrasound therapy

For tendon and shoulder problems where deeper tissue needs treating.

Cold therapy

Controls swelling after surgery or a fresh sprain.

Larger equipment such as spinal traction and shortwave diathermy stays at our Indirapuram clinic. Most South Delhi patients never need it; those who do usually start at home and add clinic sessions later.

What every home visit includes

  • A full assessment in your home and a written treatment plan with target dates
  • Hands-on therapy, with portable IFT, TENS or ultrasound where it helps
  • Exercises progressed at every session, with a home routine for the days in between
  • Training for family members on transfers, positioning and safety
  • Progress notes you can share with your doctor

Frequently asked questions

Do you visit Kaveri Apartments?

Yes, on scheduled days. Vasant Kunj is our furthest South Delhi route, so book a day or two ahead and we confirm the slot on the call.

Do I need to register the physiotherapist at the gate?

Only if the society asks for it. Share the pocket, block and flat number; visits run on scheduled days.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the problem. A simple back strain may need 5 to 8 sessions, a knee replacement 4 to 8 weeks, and stroke rehabilitation several months. We give an estimate after the first assessment.

What equipment does the physiotherapist bring?

Portable TENS, IFT and ultrasound units, hot and cold packs, exercise bands and assessment tools. Larger equipment such as traction and shortwave is at our Indirapuram clinic.

Is home physiotherapy as effective as going to a clinic?

For most problems, yes. Assessment, hands-on treatment and exercise all work at home, and portable IFT, TENS and ultrasound cover pain relief. Only a minority of patients need clinic-only equipment.

What does a home visit cost?

A single home session is ₹800 to ₹1,200 depending on distance, condition and session length, with the first assessment included. Weekly and monthly plans cost less per visit; the details are on our Vasant Kunj home physiotherapy page.

Society details are based on public listings and may change. Physiosolution is an independent clinic based in Indirapuram and is not affiliated with any hospital, society or residents' welfare association named on this page.
