Home Physiotherapy at Yamuna Apartments, Vasant Kunj

Yamuna Apartments in Vasant Kunj is an apartment society in the colony's sector housing. (Alaknanda has a society of the same name; this page covers the Vasant Kunj one.)

Treatment in your own home at Yamuna Apartments

Rehabilitation works best where you actually live. At Yamuna Apartments we practise getting out of your own bed, onto your own chair and toilet, and through your own doorways, rather than on clinic equipment that looks nothing like home. For working families, a fixed time slot also means nobody has to take leave to drive a parent to appointments. Vasant Kunj is the furthest part of South Delhi from our Indirapuram clinic. We group visits here on scheduled days, so call a day or two ahead; for daily programmes we agree a fixed slot before the first session.

Getting to your home

Mention that it is the Vasant Kunj society when you book, with the pocket and flat number. If the patient has a carer or attendant, it helps if they are home for the first visit so we can show them the routine.

Treating inside the flat

Apartment flats are rarely set up for exercise, but they do not need to be. We use a bed, a firm chair, a stretch of corridor and, where there is one, the stairwell. If the block has a lift, we still add stair practice before discharge from our care, so a lift outage does not leave someone stuck indoors.

Hip surgery and the first weeks home

After hip surgery, the rules on bending and crossing the legs depend on the operation. We check the surgeon's instructions, then set up the bed, chair and toilet in your Yamuna Apartments home so the precautions are easy to follow. Post hip replacement exercises and gait training take it from there; geriatric physiotherapy covers the wider plan.

Stroke rehabilitation at home

Recovery after a stroke is fastest in the first three months, which is exactly when getting to a clinic is hardest. We start at home in Yamuna Apartments with bed mobility, sitting balance and safe transfers, then standing and walking as control returns. Family members learn how to help without doing everything for the patient. More on neuro physiotherapy and paralysis physiotherapy.

Coming home from hospital

For residents discharged from Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj or the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, we can usually start in the first week at home. Share the discharge summary when you book. See post-surgical rehabilitation for how the programme runs.

Therapies we bring to Yamuna Apartments

TENS

Portable pain relief, useful in flare-ups and between visits.

Heat therapy

Loosens stiff joints and muscles before exercise.

Kinesio taping

Gives a painful joint support that lasts a few days.

Interferential therapy (IFT)

Eases deep back and knee pain so exercise is possible.

Larger equipment such as spinal traction and shortwave diathermy stays at our Indirapuram clinic. Most South Delhi patients never need it; those who do usually start at home and add clinic sessions later.

  • Hands-on therapy, with portable IFT, TENS or ultrasound where it helps
  • Exercises progressed at every session, with a home routine for the days in between
  • Training for family members on transfers, positioning and safety
  • Progress notes you can share with your doctor

Frequently asked questions

Do you visit Yamuna Apartments?

Yes, on scheduled days. Vasant Kunj is our furthest South Delhi route, so book a day or two ahead and we confirm the slot on the call.

Do I need to register the physiotherapist at the gate?

Only if the society asks for it. Mention that it is the Vasant Kunj society when you book, with the pocket and flat number.

Can I ask for a female physiotherapist?

Yes, on request. See female physiotherapist at home.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the problem. A simple back strain may need 5 to 8 sessions, a knee replacement 4 to 8 weeks, and stroke rehabilitation several months. We give an estimate after the first assessment.

How long is each session?

Around 45 to 60 minutes. The first visit runs longer because it includes the full assessment and a written treatment plan.

What does a home visit cost?

A single home session is ₹800 to ₹1,200 depending on distance, condition and session length, with the first assessment included. Weekly and monthly plans cost less per visit; the details are on our Vasant Kunj home physiotherapy page.

Society details are based on public listings and may change. Physiosolution is an independent clinic based in Indirapuram and is not affiliated with any hospital, society or residents' welfare association named on this page.
